Easter 2013

I don't know what it is about Easter that I love so much...maybe it is because of the bunnies..they are my favorite - along with giraffes but giraffes really have nothing to do with Easter.  Anyways, I think it is just the feel of the day. It always feels like such a light day. So happy and fun.

I have found a great site with some ideas to make your Easter Day a little bit more special:

For an appetizer, we have a classic. Deviled Eggs!

For a side dish, we have some Cranberry Chutney:

To go with the Cranberry Chutney, we could have some yummy Easter Ham:

Felt Bunny Ears

Day #3:

These little felt bunny ears are so cute and so easy to make! I'm sure if you don't have a sewing machine at home it would be fine to sue some fabric glue or something.

I love that you can make them whatever color you want! You can ave them readily available for any little ones that might be showing up for Easter!

Thread Wrapped Easter Eggs

Day #2:

So with all the Easter ideas I have coming up this week I thought I would show you guys one of my own Easter projects! I made some thread wrapped Easter eggs!

I started off with the following materials:
  1. Plastic Easter Eggs
  2. Thread that I found at a garage sale for 25 cents a piece
  3. Mod Podge
  4. Cheap Paint Brushes

Step 1 - I painted the top and bottom of the plastic Easter eggs with a layer of Mod Podge.

Step 2 - I started wrapping the thread around the egg from top to bottom. Stopping every once in a while to put a new layer of Mod Podge on the top and bottom.

Step 3 - Keep wrapping and adding layers of mod podge to the top and the bottom of the egg until the whole egg is covered by the thread.

Step 4 - Place them in a jar and use them for decoration!

**Here is the picture that my husband wanted me to post...we dont even have kids yet...he just wants to show off his GI Joe that we found at the garage sale! :)**

Grass Candles

So we are doing something a little differnet this week. I usually try to post 4 times a week but since we have a holiday this coming week I'm going to be a little bit more active. I'm going to post once a day with a new idea for your easter celebration.

Day #1:
To kick things off, we have a simple project to brighten up your home for spring!

These beautiful candles are so easy to make! You can transform any candle you have into Grass Candles using just blades of grass and non-flammable, all-purpose glue! Martha Stewart will tell you more in her tutorial for these beautiful candles!

Check back each day to discover a new way to get ready for the season!
