Right before Eric and I got married, our home got flooded. This was a little inconvenient at the time, but now that we are back in our home and we can look back on that time, it was a blessing in disguise. Before the flooding, our place was definitely a bachelor pad. (of course it was! We weren't quite married yet) It had white walls, white floors, cords everywhere hooking up game systems to TV's and sound systems...it was a little..well, uninspiring.
Since our place got flooded, everything had to be ripped out and redone. This was like a golden opportunity for me to redecorate our place. We got the walls painted, new floors and all that fun stuff. It seemed like everything was done but I keep finding things that I still need to do!
One of the rooms that has gone a little unnoticed is our bedroom. No one sees it but us it so it is kinda the last room to be decorated. We have a bed set and a bookshelf. I want to make a headboard for our bed to make it look a little more grown up and put together and this mini-tutorial from Better Homes & Gardens has given me some awesome inspiration!
Granted, our bedroom is not orange, its blue, but the nice thing about this headboard is its homemade so I can make it whatever color I want! I just think it is such a contemporary way to do a beautiful custom, comfy headboard. I can't wait to try it and when I do, I will let you all know!
I hope you'll do a headboard as it's great looking! I'm sorry you had to deal with flooding... I bet it was awful at the time even though you see the silver lining now.
