Science Crafts: Glowing Flowers

I think that doing science projects with your little ones is one of the best ways to spend an afternoon and now that its back to school time, this could help them to get warmed up.

You remember that experiment in school when you would die your flowers colors by placing them in water that had food color in it? Well this is a really awesome twist on that project!

They glow!! This is such a cool science experiment and it uses things that you likely already have around the house. You can't get better than that! Find the tutorial at Fun at Home with the Kids!

Science Crafts: Homemade Silly Putty

I'm a 90's kid. As such, green slime was a big part of my childhood! Nickelodeon, anyone? I remember always wanting to get slimed after I won a game show on Nickelodeon. Sadly, that dream never came true but now that I have a son, we can create our own green slime!! I'm so excited!

**Just make sure to supervise your little ones because this recipe is not for consumption!**

Chalkboard Dining Room Table

I remember when I was in school and I would get in trouble for doodling in my notebook. My teacher would always say "Put that away and pay attention!" but she didn't realize that the doodling helped me to focus on what I was learning.

If my desk at school had been like this dining table that I found over at We Are THAT Family, I might have gotten better grades!

Kristen created this beautiful table for her family by re-purposing her old dining room table and painting it with chalkboard paint!

I asked her how she came up with this idea and it turns out, her kids (like many others out there) have the same doodling habit that I do! She said that this table really helps them to focus when they are having their family devotions time.

Check out this cool picture that her husband drew of the verse that they were learning!

Awesome job Kristen! I love the idea of using this table to draw your verses! What a great way to instil those values into your children! I will have to remember that one. :)

If you want to create this awesome project, click here for the tutorial!

Glowing Jars

Hey! So i found this really awesome tutorial for glowing jars! Aren't these beautiful?!

Its such a neat idea for a kids room or a walkway at a party and its super easy! All you need is a mason jar or two (different sized jars will add dimension to the project), glowing paint, paintbrushes with small or large tips (depending on how large and whimsical you want the dots to be), and water and you are good to go! You also might want to wear some old clothes just in case!

I just think these would be such a nice nightlight for a kids bedroom, you could make them into a cool vase for your bathroom, or they could light the walkway at a party! Very cool! Thanks to Panka for this wonderful tutorial!

Another similar tutorial for this same project (that might not take quite as long) can be found here and are equally as beautiful!
